ND why am I tired? Because I'm an idiot who doesn't get to bed before 2:30 a.m. Clearly I'm going to have to rectify this.
Half Price Books has seduced me again. I went in there intending to spend only a little money and walked out with a stack of books the size of Rhode Island. I'm only slightly exaggerating. Most of these will be going to the children's section of a certain volunteer library, but quite a few were also manga for Miss V. Now if she would only review a title or two...
It's interesting, though. At the end of the month when I'm totaling up receipts, I often feel buyer's remorse over dining out or purchasing some trinket I didn't really need. Rarely if ever have I felt buyer's remorse over books. (OK, with the exception of a few reeking titles that I should've picked up from the library first, had I been thinking.) Books tend to enrich, not to impoverish; at least that's been my experience.
And now to earn my epithet. ♫ La la la Laundry Faireeee! la la ♫ *mincing with a dark load*

The March Madness treasury
By some crazy fluke, I was able to grab a spot in Etsy's Treasury tonight... so I made a little March Madness-themed treasury all about March's crazy weather (all right, with one entry from February featuring the world's most famous mammalian meteorologist).
I can see this Treasury stuff has the potential to be very, very addictive. Already mentally setting up another one...
...but not now. Now I am going to bed!

The first attempt at pin-making
It's time to admit a shameful truth. Over the last several months, I've been making jewelry which I myself cannot wear. I've never had my ears pierced, so all these Lego goodies and other assorted earwear I've been posting on my Etsy store are items I cannot, for the nonce, try on. I've been looking to family and friends with pierces to wear-test concept pieces for me and make sure they're reasonably comfortable and fun.
At the same time, I've really got nothing for the guys -- unless they're secure enough in their masculinity that they're comfortable wearing Lego earrings.
Clearly, these things have to change. Which is what I was thinking about as I wandered through my friendly neighborhood Lego store yesterday. I picked up several minifigures on which to work my questionable magic... and then, near the checkout register, I saw a minifigure set of a policeman and his dog. I'll admit I immediately thought of Dori's husband and his canine partner, so I picked it up.
Gentle readers, without further rambling exposition, I present to you Officer Not-So-Friendly and his dog Seaforth.
Originally I was hoping for an Officer Friendly vibe, but it's clear this guy is all business.
Pinbacks. If you look closely you will notice I'm still learning how to use industrial strength jewelry adhesive, so things are a bit wonky here and there on the officer. Still, considering it's my first try, I think this set turned out pretty well. I also think Lego pins are much more likely to be interesting to members of both sexes.
Best of all, in my eyes anyway, I have finally made Lego jewelry I can wear myself! (But I'm still looking for wear-testers. Dori, would you or hubby be interested?)

More geekiness
OK, I haven't yet put these up, and they won't go up until they're properly wear-tested to ensure they aren't too heavy on the ears.
But, um, what are your thoughts on these?
Yes, other than the ubiquitous "You're such a geek" post. I know that already.
ETA: Stormtroopers are up.

Be there any geeks among us?
All right, I'll freely admit it. I'm a pop culture geek. My particular vice is Harry Potter. But there are several other people in my family who are Star Wars geeks.
For them and others like them, I made these:

Geeky Lego Star Wars goodness, all on display in my Etsy store! Whee! Now my sister in law wants me to make her Lego Stormtrooper earrings. I'm not sure I should be encouraged to continue creating along these lines, but it's been fun.
What's next? I'm considering doing this for the LOTR fans:
AND MY AXE!
I'm such a dweeb.
