Our flight itinerary just arrived via email. And it struck me strongly:
This is really going to happen.
It's not going to be scuttled at the last minute. It's not a daydream, or a wish, or something that's going to happen at some indeterminate time in the far-flung future.
We are actually going to England.
Next week.

Here! We are going here! For reals! |
This is what it was like the first day of kindergarten -- with absolutely no experience to prepare you for what was coming, and a combined sense of exhilaration and fear of the unknown. I do have a bit of fear -- fear of getting lost, of missing a flight, of not using our time wisely, of being a disappointment in person -- but it's all but swallowed up in the exhilaration.

I am almost as excited as you are! I am so looking forward to being able to show you just a few Cotswold things, though I think you will be surprised at how tiny the cottage is. Oh, and have a wonderful time in London. :)
